New Building works at Holehird Gardens

The Lakeland Horticultural Society is about to start an exciting new project to replace our Members' Room with a new building. The Society has been a recipient of many generous legacies and donations from visitors over the last couple of decades that have enabled us to save sufficient funds to have a replacement Members' Room to be built in the wall garden. Our existing well loved and well used Members' Room is nearing the end of its life, having been built as a temporary structure in the 1980s. Its modern replacement will be built to higher standards of insulation and will include solar panels. The solar panels will reduce our carbon footprint significantly throughout the garden.

Please bear with us during the demolition and initial building phase where there may be more noise than normal in our walled garden. Our contractors will be erecting steel barriers around the building area; please do not enter this area. Occasionally the contractors will also be accessing the building site through the walled garden and by crane from a carpark outside the walled garden. Whilst parking may be restricted during the build, we expect to still be able to provide sufficient parking space for visitors. We will ensure that visitors are inconvenienced as little as possible during the build.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at Holehird.
