Membership is open to everyone and everyone is welcome!
The Lakeland Horticultural Society has now over 1800 members from all walks of life and from all parts of the country, united both by a common interest in horticulture and a willingness to support a unique garden in
its idyllic setting and the many volunteers who maintain it.
Membership offers the opportunity to participate at any level in the horticultural, educational and social life of the Society, as well as the pleasure
of visiting Holehird from time to time, simply to enjoy the garden and its peaceful atmosphere, or perhaps discuss problems with our many knowledgeable gardeners or even to take
advantage of the well-stocked reference and lending library.
The Society's journal 'The Lakeland Gardener' containing articles by
local and national experts in their various fields is sent to members in Spring and Autumn, and three Newsletters during the year keep members informed of the varied programme of courses, talks,
garden visits and social events.
For details of the programme of events for members click here.
.
To welcome new members into the LHS, they are
invited to attend a New Members' Meeting held at Holehird Gardens, where they can meet other members, participate in a guided tour of the gardens and learn a little of how the Society is maintained and managed.
